How We Get Paid

At Searcy Financial®, we believe clients should understand how their advisor is compensated. We are a fee-only firm, which means our compensation comes directly from our clients or the accounts we manage, not from third-party commissions.

Our Fee-Only Approach

We provide financial planning and investment management together because we believe the two are closely connected. At the same time, we address planning and investment management fees separately so the value of each service is clear.

Your portfolio should be managed in the context of your financial plan, not apart from it. We believe your investment strategy should be informed by your broader financial life, including your goals, cash flow, tax considerations, retirement income needs, and long-term priorities.

How Our Fees Work

Searcy Financial® is typically compensated in three ways, depending on the work being done and the level of service needed. We will review the details of your service level, billing arrangement, and any applicable minimums during an introductory conversation.

Financial Planning Fee

We charge a planning fee for the financial planning work we provide. Because each household’s needs are different, we offer several planning service levels based on the complexity of the relationship. We will review the options with you before you decide whether to move forward.

Investment Management Fee

We charge an investment management fee based on the assets we manage directly for you. This fee is typically billed from the managed investment accounts. Because we provide planning and investment management together, minimum investment management fees may apply.

Hourly or Project-Based Planning Fee

In some cases, clients need work outside the scope of our standard planning service levels. For project-based work, we discuss the scope in advance, estimate the time involved, and outline the fee before the work begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does fee-only mean?

Fee-only means our compensation comes from our clients or the accounts we manage, not from third-party commissions or commission-based product sales.

How do I pay for your services?

Investment management fees are typically billed directly from the accounts we manage. Financial planning fees are paid according to the service level and billing arrangement discussed before the relationship begins.

Do you receive commissions or financial incentives for recommending certain products?

No. Searcy Financial® does not receive commissions or third-party compensation for recommending financial products.

Can I hire Searcy Financial® for planning only?

Searcy Financial® generally provides financial planning and investment management together. If you are looking for planning-only support or a more flexible service model, Allos Investment Advisors may be a better fit.

Can you help me compare your services with what I’m paying my current advisor?

Yes. We can help you review the services you are receiving, how your current advisor is compensated, and how Searcy Financial® structures its planning and investment management relationship.

Not Sure Which Service Is the Right Fit?

Searcy Financial® may not be the right fit for every household, and that’s okay.

If you’re looking for planning-only support, prefer to manage your own investments, or want a different service model, our subsidiary, Allos Investment Advisors, may be a better fit.

We’re happy to talk through your needs and help you determine which option may be appropriate for your goals.

Fees and service availability may vary based on the scope of services and pursuant to an executed client agreement.
